WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg has done a lot for the business, but he remains a free agent after his WWE contract expired. Many people believe he will debut in AEW before All In, but it appears that Eric Bischoff doesn’t think All In actually needs Goldberg in any way.
Tony Khan’s ambition truly knows no limits in many ways, including AEW’s biggest plan – which will see the company holding the next All In event at Wembley Stadium this year. Needless to say, fans are very hyped about the event.
The All In event will be taking place on August 27 at the London Stadium, which is definitely a big deal for the promotion. With a capacity of 90,000 fans, many fans feel the event needs many big names to even have a chance at selling out the venue.
The likes of Goldberg and Mercedes Mone have been discussed as potential names to compete at All In. While speaking on his 83 Weeks Podcast, Eric Bischoff talked about the upcoming All In event. Bischoff stated that he believes All In doesn’t really need Goldberg or Mercedes Mone to become a success.
I’m not so sure that I would want to bring in a Mercedes [Mone] or even a Goldberg for a one-off like this. I don’t know that I would do that, and I don’t think they’re going to need it, quite honestly if they have 55,000 people that have already signed up for presales.
I wouldn’t want the perception, or in this case, maybe the reality, of having to rely on somebody who’s not a part of my company to help sell that house. I said this last week, I wouldn’t even want Punk on the card. If I’m Tony Khan, I want to have done it without someone like CM Punk or certainly without someone like a Bill Goldberg or Mercedes.”
Tony Khan is also paying close attention to Goldberg’s free agent status. It remains to be seen whether Tony Khan will end up signing Goldberg in time for AEW All In in August.
