EC3’s career in WWE has been largely criticized by fans as the company has underutilized him on the main roster. He eventually parted ways with WWE back in 2020 and has never looked back since. Now it appears that EC3 claimed he sent an email to AEW President Tony Khan after the All Out brawl but got ghosted instead.
After his departure, EC3 made his return to Impact Wrestling where he had a brief stint. After that, he made his way to other promotions, including ROH and eventually founded his Control Your Narrative promotion. However, that endeavour did not prove to be a successful one.
CM Punk went on a verbal tirade during the post-All Out media scrum and the subsequent backstage brawl with The Elite changed the face of AEW for good as the company got a lot of negative publicity.
While speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, EC3 revealed he had reached out to Tony Khan last year via email as a way to send him some support and not because he wanted a job. That said, EC3 never got any reply from Tony Khan.
“I emailed Tony. Not at all with the intent to get a job, that’s how I led off the email. It was when all the initial Punk and Young Bucks and all that thing went off. Just cause I thought he might be a guy who lacked anybody that would just…he doesn’t have a close relationship with to tell him something.
“It was just an inspirational, leadership message, because in theory, I do believe we need as much competition as possible for the sanctity of the industry. So I sent a hopefully inspirational message on leadership and what it takes. I’ve never heard anything back.”
EC3 also once outsmarted WWE and kept his name during his time in the company. EC3 is currently focused on his own ventures in promotions such as the NWA and that’s all that to him right now.
