WWE’s documentary series, Rivals, has recently completed its second season, and one of the fan-favorite AEW stars surprisingly appeared in the program. Now, the reason behind her inclusion has been revealed.

The former WWE employee in question is Renee Paquette, who left WWE in August 2020. Since her exit, Paquette has made appearances on WWE programming, started her podcast, and joined AEW as a backstage interviewer. She made her All Elite Wrestling debut in October 2022 in her hometown of Toronto at the company’s first-ever show in Canada.

According to Fightful Select, Renee Paquette’s appearance on WWE Rivals was cleared because her “talking head” segments were filmed before she signed with AEW.

Paquette’s inclusion in WWE Rivals raised eyebrows among some wrestling fans, as she is now associated with AEW, WWE’s rival. However, it seems that her appearance on the show was a coincidence, as her segments were recorded before she joined AEW.

Paquette’s transition from WWE to AEW has been a successful one, as she has become one of the most popular backstage interviewers in the industry. Her inclusion in WWE Rivals may have been a surprise, but it is unlikely to affect her position in AEW or her relationship with WWE.

Do you think Renee Paquette’s appearance in WWE’s Rivals documentary series was a coincidence, or do you think there was more to it? Leave a comment.
