WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley may be considering a name change as she continues to try and enhance her presentation as the current SmackDown Women’s Champion. At a recent untelevised live event, Ripley requested ring announcer Byron Saxton to introduce her as Rhea “Bloody” Ripley before her match against Shotzi.

It is unclear if WWE will officially adopt the new moniker for Ripley, but the request shows her desire to continue evolving her character and presentation.

Changing a wrestler’s name is not an uncommon practice in the industry, as it can help create a fresh start and new identity for the character. However, it is not clear if WWE will go ahead with the name change for Ripley or if it was just a one-time request.

The Eradicator’s reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion has been a successful one so far, and she is set to defend her title against Zelina Vega at the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view. A win over Vega is the likely outcome, but it will be interesting to see what Ripley’s next move is beyond the event.
