Madcap Moss was working in NXT for the majority of his career until he finally got called up to the main roster. Back then he was just known as Riddick Moss and did not really see much success there. Interestingly enough, now it appears that WWE decided to change his name back for some reason.
Since Triple H took over as the head of WWE creative from Vince McMahon, quite a few WWE Superstars saw themselves getting back their old names and gimmicks, among other things.
The likes of Matt Riddle, Tommaso Ciampa and Austin Theory got their first names back, while Piper Niven and Nikki Cross reverted back to their old gimmicks. Clearly, Triple H isn’t done making changes either.
On last week’s Smackdown, Karrion Kross named a list of WWE Superstars he had taken things from in as he built his feud with Shinsuke Nakamura. While doing so, he referred to Madcap Moss as ‘Riddick Moss.’
It is evident that the name wasn’t said by accident, as Moss’ profile on WWE’s roster page on WWE.com officially lists him once again as ‘Riddick Moss’.
Moss’ last appearance was on the April 14 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, in a losing effort to a returning Shinsuke Nakamura. We’ll have to see how WWE will continue to book Riddick Moss in the coming months.
