Former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio remains a highly controversial figure in pro wrestling. Del Rio used to have a lot of fans but he has lost most of them by now. That being said, it appears that Del Rio considers himself the greatest WWE Champion of all time and hinted at making a WWE return.

Despite all of De Rio’s controversies, it is evident that he has seen a lot of success in WWE. This is because he is a four-time world champion, two-time WWE United States Champion as well as the 2011 Royal Rumble winner.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Triple H revealed that a new WWE World Heavyweight Championship is on the way. This will lead to spitting up Roman Reigns’ run as the Undisputed Champion. With this, fans started wondering who will become the first champion.

WWE recently made a post where they asked fans who is the greatest WWE Champion of all time. Interestingly enough, Alberto Del Rio retweeted the post and then uploaded a photo of himself wearing the old World Heavyweight Championship, seemingly hinting at a WWE return to eventually become the new World Champion.

Alberto Del Rio is also certain he will get inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame someday. Now it remains to be seen whether the Mexican star really will return to WWE and go after the World Heavyweight Title, as it seems highly unlikely at this point in time.

Do you think WWE should consider bringing him back despite his controversial past? Leave a comment.
