WWE’s NXT brand has seen a surge in popularity in recent months, thanks in part to the success of characters like Tony D’Angelo, who has developed a following for his mob boss persona and violent language.
During a recent episode of NXT Spring Breakin’, D’Angelo and his cohort Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo wrote off the tag team Pretty Deadly, potentially setting the stage for their main roster debut in the upcoming WWE Draft.
However, some fans have taken D’Angelo’s on-screen antics a bit too seriously, with one jokingly accusing him of having “three murders under his belt”.
Tony D’Angelo is legitimately a serial killer and WWE just lets it happen
he literally has 3 murders under his belt
D’Angelo responded by asking for evidence and claiming that nobody saw anything, while NXT’s new lawyer character Luca Crusifino also chimed in to say that he hadn’t seen any evidence of wrongdoing.
While the accusations against D’Angelo are clearly in jest, they reflect the popularity of his character and the way he has been able to generate interest and engagement from fans.
With the upcoming WWE Draft set to shake up the rosters of both RAW and SmackDown, there is sure to be plenty of excitement and intrigue in the world of WWE in the coming weeks and months.
As Tony D’Angelo’s character gains popularity among NXT fans, what other rising stars do you think could make a big impact in the WWE Draft and beyond? Leave a comment.
