WWE Accused of Punishing Roman Reigns For Taking Time Off To Be With His Family

Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. The Tribal Chief has dominated the competition since his return back in 2020. He showed no signs of stopping anytime soon, much to the dismay of many fans. Reigns hasn’t been seen in a while and now it appears WWE was accused of punishing Reigns for taking time off.

The Tribal Chief defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Sunday. After beating Rhodes, Reigns has remained absent from WWE television.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Triple H revealed that a new WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title is on the way. This will help split up Roman Reigns’ run as the Undisputed Champion.

Triple H stated that Roman Reigns had WWE in a position where he had too much control, so they were introducing another title. Rumors also suggested that Roman Reigns took time off in order to be with his family, which Vince Russo believes was an error on Reigns’ part.

While speaking on Legion of RAW, Vince Russo talked about Roman Reigns taking time off to be with his family. Russo then accused WWE of punishing Roman Reigns for this reason.

This is how it works. I swear to you guys, honestly man, if Roman Reigns after all the work he has put in for the last X amount of here, if Roman Reigns went to Vince and Wrinkle Head [Triple H] and said, ‘You know what guys, I need some time off man. I am tired and want to spend some time with my family, I need some time off.

Honestly any good employer [sic] would say, ‘My God, the job you’ve done for us for the last three years, yes.’ But that’s what any normal employer [sic] would say, not the WWE, they would punish you for wanting time off to be with your family.”

A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at WWE Night Of Champions on May 27th. Ringside News exclusively reported that Roman Reigns will be defending his title at the event as well. We’ll have to wait and see when Reigns will return in the meantime.
