CM Punk surprised a lot of people when he showed up backstage at RAW in Chicago. Although he was able to hang out for a little bit, that homecoming was short-lived. It turns out that Punk had more interaction with WWE talent than just at RAW yesterday.

As we previously reported, CM Punk was asked to leave WWE RAW this week, but he was backstage for a while. Punk also reportedly got to see several members of the roster and also talk to Triple H. He was there for about thirty minutes, or a little longer.

It was also reported exactly who asked CM Punk to leave. Some WWE Superstars believed that CM Punk only showed up to hype his AEW return. CM Punk and The Miz were also able to bury the hatchet.

Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk didn’t make a huge impression backstage in the end. The company had far too many things to worry about that night in Chicago.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed CM Punk’s surprise pop-in. He revealed that CM Punk actually flew in from Florida to Chicago with a number of WWE Superstars.

Apparently, he flew from Florida to Chicago on a flight with a lot of the talent.

It was not noted whether CM Punk and the WWE Superstars on that flight talked about that eventual WWE RAW visit, but it could have certainly contributed to it. We will have to see if CM Punk speaks out about this little publicity stunt, but a lot of WWE Superstars are under the assumption that it was just that.

What’s your take on CM Punk showing up at WWE RAW? Are you surprised they asked him to leave? Sound off in the comments!
