Bianca Belair Almost Cut Off Her Signature Braid

Bianca Belair has fans all around the globe, and a lot of those die-hards flocked to her thanks to her trademark braid. It can’t be easy to wear that braid all the time, but The EST of WWE gets it done. That being said, she almost hacked it off a long time ago.

Trademarks are very important to pro wrestlers. If you can have something that sets you apart from the pack, then it’s important to make the most of it. Bianca Belair certainly did that with her signature braid, as she has used it as a weapon and a dance partner many times.

While talking to Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls, Bianca Belair admitted that she almost cut off her braid. Then her husband, Montez Ford, was able to step in and talk her out of it. This went down in NXT, which could have changed her WWE career forever.

“My husband, who I met in WWE, Montez Ford, he’s one half of the Street Profits, a tag team, he’s been watching wrestling since he was in his momma’s womb.

“He was the one that talked me into keeping the braid. He was like ‘if somebody comes to a show for the first time, they’ll remember the girl with the braid.’”

Thankfully, Montez Ford convinced Bianca Belair not to cut off her braid, especially in NXT. She was able to use that aspect of her character to do a lot of business on the WWE main roster. Not only is her braid one of the biggest parts of her character, but it is also featured heavily on her merchandise.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Bianca Belair. As RAW Women’s Champion, it seems that she will go to Saudi Arabia for Night of Champions on May 27th to defend her title. Then again, no matches have been announced for that upcoming Saudi Arabian event just yet.
