Twitter made a controversial call when they took away blue legacy checkmarks. Now, the only blue checkmarks that are around cost $8 a month. Dakota Kai was among so many others who lost their blue verification badge, and she wanted to make sure fans knew to stay away from scammers.
Sadly, scammers are known to target pro wrestling fans on a frequent basis. They will either hack into a Superstar’s account, or they will simply open up a copycat page that looks close enough to the legit Superstar’s page to fool people who don’t know what to look for. This is a trend Dakota Kai would like to see ended.
While jumping onto Twitter, Dakota Kai made it known that she only has a few social media handles. Anyone else posing to be her online is just trying to rip her fans off.
The only social media I run is this account, @char1ie_gir1 , charliegirl (twitch), @/ imkingkota (insta) and @/ char1iegir1 (tik tok).
I don’t have any“private” accounts. I will never and have never asked for money or anything of the sort. They are scammers, please be weary.
It’s good that Dakota Kai was able to send out this warning, because some fans might have been confused about where she is actually operating online. She isn’t the only person dealing with scammers attacking their fan base, either.
Scammers are everywhere, especially now that blue checkmarks are disappearing all over the place. Sadly, that will open the door for dishonest people to take advantage of this situation in a big way. Hopefully, Dakota Kai was able to get this message to people who needed to hear it.
