WWE continues to be the global juggernaut in the world of professional wrestling, which is why it is no surprise the company is more than just about wrestling now. After all, WWE is a multi-faceted promotion which continues to grab its hold in multiple mediums. Now it appears that even Warner Bros Discovery has an interest in WWE programming.
AEW currently has a long-term deal with Warner Bros Discovery and it has clearly worked out in their favor. However, fans have also wondered whether Warner Bros Discovery would ever be interested in working with WWE.
While speaking on the SI Media Podcast, author James Andrew Miller talked about attending WrestleMania for the first time and stated that he has heard Warner Bros. Discovery is interested in WWE programming.
“I think so. I wouldn’t be surprised, despite the fact that money is such an issue for them, I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Bros. Discovery wouldn’t like a slice of that WWE pie.”
James Andrew Miller would then go on to speculate that Warner Bros. Discovery might just move RAW from Mondays in order to avoid competing with other sports. When asked if Warner Bros. Discovery has any intention of adding WWE to their existing AEW programming, Miller simply noted that they do have an interest in WWE programming.
“I don’t know but I know there are people at Warner Bros. who are interested [in WWE].”
Both WWE and AEW will begin preparations for negotiating new television deals in a matter of a few months. For the time being, Warner Bros. Discovery is more than happy with AEW’s performance and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. Regardless, we’ll have to see whether Warner Bros. Discovery will add WWE to the mix one day.
What’s your take on Warner Bros. Discovery being interested in WWE? Do you think AEW and WWE might be working together one day? Sound off in the comments!
