Liv Morgan is certainly one of the most beloved female WWE Superstars in the company right now. She worked very hard to reach her current position in WWE and earned the love and admiration of fans. Morgan is a huge fan of Trish Stratus as she grew up watching the WWE Hall Of Famer and took inspiration from her. That said, Morgan also revealed how she felt about pinning Stratus right before her heel turn.
On last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. It was originally supposed to be Lita instead of Stratus, but Lita was attacked backstage before the match.
Despite their best efforts, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus were unable to successfully retain the titles. Liv Morgan ended up pinning Trish Stratus for the massive win. Immediately after that, Trish Stratus turned heel on Becky Lynch, shocking fans.
While speaking on The Bump, Liv Morgan shared her thoughts on pinning Trish Stratus before the latter’s heel turn. Morgan claimed that she has always looked up to Stratus. However, she definitely felt awkward about pinning Stratus moments before the heel turn.
“I’ll take that accolade, thank you!” Morgan exclaimed. “I’ve looked up to Trish, we’ve been on ‘The Bump’ together. It was an absolute honor, but after [Stratus’s heel turn after the match], I’m a little more like [malevolent laughing] about it.
hate it for Becky, like my qualm about it is that Becky did not deserve that,” Morgan said of the attack. “And so I feel for that, but otherwise I feel like this is very typical Trish — to me at least.” According to long-time Stratus fan Morgan, this is exactly the behavior that she’s come to expect from her. “She loves the attention,” Morgan explained. “She loves the spotlight on her. On Monday, she wanted to remind everyone she is not your teen fantasy, she is the greatest of all time. Whether I agree with that? I plead the fifth. But I think it’s typical Trish and I’m not mad at her for it. I just feel for Becky.”
Liv Morgan even begged Raquel Rodriquez to not betray her after winning the titles last week on Monday Night RAW. Only time will tell how WWE will book their reign as the champions in the coming weeks.
