Contracts are always interesting in pro wrestling, especially when you’re talking about top names. This is a very important time in AEW history, with a new Saturday show on the way along with All In London in Wembley Stadium. Now, we have some news about Hangman Page’s status.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Adam Hangman Page and AEW are involved in contract talks right now. That being said, those talks just started.
Fightful Select has learned that Adam “Hangman” Page and AEW are in the process of working towards a potential new contract. Hangman Page was not only one of the original signings, but one of the people involved with announcing the formation of the company on January 1, 2019, though he wasn’t given Executive Vice President status.
The report went on to say that, “negotiations started fairly recently, and there doesn’t seem to be much of a timetable on when that could get done.” We will have to see if they can come to an agreement.
It was also noted that Hangman Page “has the same rep as Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.” Of course, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega have also “been in the process of negotiations regarding extending their deals of late.”
This is a very interesting situation with Hangman Page and AEW. After all, WWE did have interest in him a few years ago prior to Page signing with All Elite Wrestling. The former AEW World Champion is also not an EVP of the company, but he is a top name for WWE’s competition.
What’s your take on Hangman Page’s contract situation? Do you think he’s going to jump ship to WWE? Sound off in the comments!
