WWE was sold to UFC’s parent company Endeavor earlier this month, which was a very long time coming after Vince McMahon returned to WWE back in January. Due to the merger, fans started wondering whether UFC and WWE stars would end up working together. Now it appears that Leon Edwards is down to wrestle in WWE after the merger.

WWE and UFC’s merger deal will result in a new company worth $21 billion, which will likely bring about a ton of changes for both companies in the long run. Fans are both excited but apprehensive about this merger for good reason.

UFC champion Leon Edwards is undoubtedly one of the biggest fighters in the world right now. This is after he shockingly knocked out Kamaru Usman to win the welterweight title last year in August.

While speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Leon Edwards was asked if he would be interested in competing in a match for WWE. The UFC Welterweight Campion made it clear that he is down for a match.

Get me on the top rope, I’ll give it a go for sure. I actually went to the event last year in Cardiff, Clash at the Castle. I took my son, it’s quite similar and the fans are really similar.

Leon Edwards isn’t the only UFC star who wants to compete in WWE as Israel Adesanya wants to work in Vince McMahon’s company as well. We will have to wait and see whether Edwards will end up competing in a match somewhere down the line.

What’s your take on what Leon Edwards said? Do you want him to compete in WWE? Sound off in the comments!
