Mercedes Mone shocked the pro wrestling world last year when she walked out on Monday Night RAW along with Naomi. After a lot of teasing and discussions, Mone finally debuted in NJPW and utterly shocked the pro wrestling world. She also made her debut in STARDOM this week and it appears Mone wasn’t originally supposed to debut at all.
Mercedes Mone is currently the IWGP Women’s Champion, after winning the title at NJPW Battle in the Valley in February by defeating KAIRI in a solid match. Fans were surprised to see how differently Mone wrestled in Japan.
The former WWE Superstar is currently a heel in Japan and has been showing off a completely different side to her. Being the arrogant champion that she is in NJPW, Mone revels in all the hate she gets.
Mercedes Mone debuted in STARDOM a couple of days ago, where she attacked Mayu Iwatani, who is her opponent this Sunday at All Star Grand Queendom with the IWGP Women’s title on the line.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mercedes Mone wasn’t originally supposed to make an appearance at last Saturday’s show. However, she had the idea for the ambush and wanted to make it happen as a way to build interest in the upcoming title match.
Mercedes Mone is contracted for one more match, which is the one with Mayu Iwatani. As previously reported, Mone is currently negotiating another NJPW. We’ll have to see how long Mone will remain a champion in NJPW.
