Cody Rhodes faced Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, but he did not walk out of SoFi Stadium as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Now, there is a narrative going around that Cody wanted to lose, but that is not the case.
Dustin Rhodes recently commented on Cody’s loss during Busted Open Radio. Dustin said, “they’re making him pay for it now. They’re making him earn it, and I like that. I do. I like that, because once you put the title on him, where are you going?””
Now, Cody and Dustin’s sister Teil Rhodes joined the conversation. She tweeted out to make it clear that her brother didn’t want to lose at WrestleMania 39.
The well, Cody wanted to lose convo is very funny to me. He never wants to lose. One time I beat him at Street Fighter and he didn’t speak to me for 3 days
Cody Rhodes will continue on until he is able to finish his story. Only time will tell how long that takes, but he is certainly going to give it his all along the way. We’ll just have to see how he does against Brock Lesnar at Backlash.
Brock Lesnar will be on WWE RAW this week to answer Cody Rhodes’ Backlash challenge. Considering the extra firepower that WWE is bringing in this week, that could be an explosive segment.
