CM Punk hasn’t been seen on AEW television since All Out last year and discussions about his impending return continue to dominate headlines. While many believed he would just be back on AEW Dynamite every week, that may no longer be the case. It appears that he will be returning on a new 2-hour show called AEW Collision.

Reports have suggested that AEW is in the process of bringing back CM Punk to the company. It was then reported that AEW would somehow get back Punk by having him be the main attraction in their new show. The tentative date for his return was the June 21 edition of AEW Dynamite in Chicago, but that might be changing.

Chris Jericho also recently hinted at AEW getting a third television show. The company even previously filed to trademark “AEW Collision” for entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which was believed to be the name of the new show.

Reports added that AEW might have to ease the intention among the people who don’t like CM Punk, which is why they will be putting him on the new show, which will air every Saturday.

While speaking on the Mat Men podcast, Andrew Zarian reported that AEW Collision will be premiering in June as a two-hour program from 8-10 pm EST, the announcement for which will be made next month.

“Here is what I understand. This show looks to be starting on June 17 in Chicago…A Saturday night show. I’m hearing it’s a two-hour show from 8-10 [pm EST] on Saturdays.”

They may be preempted somedays I don’t know. That’s me interjecting based on how these things work. I also believe this is going to be on TNT. Multiple people I spoke to said probably on TNT. So that makes it even harder.

Maybe I’m wrong on that date, then. Don’t hold me to. I believe I heard it was June. What are you going to do a Saturday show in the same building and then go back on Dynamite? Maybe I’m wrong here. Now, I’m very confused by this because I had something different in my notes. I’ll check on it. Either way, I heard it’s June. I heard the announcement is coming in mid-May.

I think Punk is being very humble. I know that he really wants to make this work. From what I have been told, I think he realizes what an absurd moment this was for them…At the end of the day, he knows the importance of the wrestling business and the success of AEW and how important this is for the entire industry.”

Tony Khan was also told not to let CM Punk infect AEW again. Only time will tell whether CM Punk will come back as the star of AEW Collision in June, as fans have sorely missed the Second City Saint on AEW television.

What’s your take on CM Punk returning on AEW’s new show? Do you think it will be a success with him as the star? Sound off in the comments!
