Sami Zayn is one of the most popular Superstars in WWE, but he has not been allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia with the company. This ban is due to the fact that he is a Syrian Muslim, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia don’t get along with them. Despite the controversy, it appears that Sami Zayn might finally get to perform in KSA at Night of Champions.

Fans in Saudi Arabia chanted for Sami Zayn during the press conference before Crown Jewel. That is when Roman Reigns told them that they don’t deserve Sami Zayn. With Night of Champions coming up, things might change in this situation.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Sami Zayn is 1/2 of the Undisputed Tag Team Champions. This status could see him wrestle at Night Of Champions, which would be a huge departure from the previous ban.

The 5/27 show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which was at first named King & Queen of the Ring, has been changed to Night of Champions. That usually means all the champions defend. It’s notable because Sami Zayn was previously banned from going to Saudi Arabia and has later said he’s not interested, and for several reasons, the obvious being the treatment of Zayn, Owens also hasn’t been doing and they were tag team champions

We’ll have to see what WWE does in the weeks leading up to Night of Champions. It is always possible that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens could drop those titles before the big May 27th event, but that short of a reign might not do them much good.

This is certainly an interesting situation, because it was evident that fans in Saudi Arabia loved Sami Zayn despite the politics. Hopefully, they will finally get to see Sami Zayn perform and Kevin Owens for that matter, who has historically refused to travel to Saudi Arabia due to their policy against Sami Zayn.

What’s your take on Sami Zayn finally getting to wrestle in Saudi Arabia? Is it a long time coming? Sound off in the comments!
