Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have earned a reputation as one of the most accomplished tag teams of the past decade in professional wrestling. After a lot of speculation about their AEW future, FTR ended up signing a new contract with the company. That said, it appears they will actually retire for good after their current contracts expire.
FTR had a legendary run in 2022, as they went on to win the AAA Tag Team Titles, ROH Tag Team Titles and the IWGP Tag Team Titles. This would cement themselves as one of the best tag teams in the history of the industry.
FTR also won the AEW Tag Team Championships on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, making it clear that they will remain with Tony Khan’s company in the long run.
According to the Wrestling Observer, during Wednesday’s Rampage tapings, Cash Wheeler had a message for the crowd in attendance. He revealed that FTR signed a new four-year deal with the company. The duo then added that that after this four-year deal expired, they would retire.
With four years remaining on their contracts, we certainly wonder what FTR will be able to accomplish in the coming years. For the time being, FTR is focused on being the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
