Jim Ross has been through a lot in front of pro wrestling fans. The WWE Hall of Fame announcer is now with AEW, but he’s not slowing down despite his ongoing health issues.

The voice of AEW Rampage recently underwent treatment for skin cancer. This was a grueling process, but they were able to beat it in the end. Now, Jim Ross’ doctors are trying to correct some of the damage that treatment caused.

Jim Ross recently revealed on his Grilling JR podcast that his wound is now reduced by over 50% at this point. Of course, it’s taken a lot of work to get him there, including weekly visits with his doctor.

“Life is good. I’m fine. I’m healthy. Good news on my foot. My wound has reduced in size by 43%. I think that’s a win. I still go back every week for the wound doctor to clean it up and make sure there’s nothing funny going on. They take cultures to make sure of that.”

AEW had Jim Ross on all two hours of Dynamite and pay-per-views as well. In recent memory, they lightened his workload, but Ross still makes the trip for Rampage, where he is still on the commentary team for the company’s Friday evening show.

Jim Ross was forced to take a couple rare days off and miss television due to this cancer situation. Hopefully, he won’t have to miss any more of the action in AEW, or his doctor’s appointments back home. Obviously, Jim Ross wants to keep going as long as he can, but he needs to get back to better health in order to ensure a longer run.

What’s your take on Jim Ross in AEW? Would he be better off retiring and taking it easy for a while? Sound off in the comments!
