CM Punk Reacts to Reports About AEW Return Pitches with Troll Move

CM Punk is a controversial figure in the professional wrestling world, and his return to the industry in 2021 after a seven-year hiatus changed the game for many. He has been away from AEW since All Out last year and in the meantime, reports have suggested he made numerous pitches for his return. It appears that Punk decided to troll such reports in a big way.

Following the AEW All Out event, CM Punk made controversial comments during a media scrum where he criticized fellow wrestlers Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. The ramifications of the brawl that ensued afterwards are still being felt in AEW. Even then, fans have continued to speculate when Punk would finally return to professional wrestling.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that CM Punk has pitched numerous scenarios regarding his return to AEW. It was even added that he wanted to work with Kenny Omega and The Elite once.

CM Punk took to his Instagram story recently and uploaded a photo of his face on the body of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character Rocky, clearly trolling reports about his numerous pitches.

It is to be noted that The Elite are not really interested in working with CM Punk. CM Punk’s rant on his Instagram story about AEW also did not help matters when it came to his return. Only time will tell whether Punk will actually return to the company.
