CM Punk obviously saw that reports about him were making the rounds. He decided to have a little fun with this fact, as he is known to do. The Second City Savior has not returned to AEW, but at least he is getting some extra time on social media right now.
We previously reported that CM Punk reacted to the report that he is pitching ideas for his AEW return. This is quite interesting, because he hasn’t returned yet, and he also hasn’t been released. His status right now seems to be up in the air, but he’s not giving weight to any of those reports.
The Second City Savior followed his initial reaction up with a second Instagram story. He simply posted a photo from a bingo hall with a “welcome” sign on the wall made with balloons. This was another apparent dig at that report.
The report from Fightful said that, “we’re told Punk has been open to working elsewhere, though we’re not sure if that means within the auspices of AEW such as Ring of Honor, or the likes of WWE and NJPW.” It seems that Punk might also be open to bingo halls.
Only time will tell if CM Punk makes his return to AEW, because it hasn’t happened yet. The Elite also might not be too keen on facing Punk if he does return. After all, Brawl Out cost them months of in-ring action and it was a black eye on the company.
CM Punk’s name will continue attracting attention, no matter what. Tony Khan also has to realize the kind of money CM Punk can drive in, but that’s only if they can work out a deal to do business.
