Damage CTRL was a surprising addition to the WWE roster under Triple H’s power at SummerSlam. IYO Sky and Dakota Kai joined Bayley to form a stable that nobody saw coming, but they aren’t without their critics.
During this week’s episode of RAW, Bayley had a discussion with IYO Sky and Dakota Kai about who should get a Women’s Title shot. SKY and Kai said that they both deserved a shot at the title. Some saw this as cracks forming in the stable.
On the latest episode of Legion of RAW, Vince Russo commented on the current state of Damage CTRL, stating that there are some signs of cracks beginning to show within the group. He seems to agree that the stable is over.
Vince Russo went on to say that the faction was never popular to begin with and has lost all momentum due to bad booking. He also expressed his belief that no one would care if Damage CTRL split up or stayed together.
“Nobody is going to care about any of this, none of this. It doesn’t matter what they do. They turn on Bayley, Bayley turns on them, who cares? In order to care, they have to be at some level over. When they’re never over, you’re never going to care. So at this point, it’s too late for us to care. It’s too late. That ship has sailed, bro.”
Vince Russo’s comments come at a time when WWE is in the middle of building up storylines for Backlash. The fate of Damage CTRL remains to be seen, but it’s clear that their recent struggles have not gone unnoticed.
We’ll have to see what’s next for Damage CTRL. Bayley is not leaving WWE, but Vince McMahon’s return could spell for the end of this female faction.
