Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were seen as top stars during their time in NXT, as they had solid matches with the likes of DIY, American Alpha and others. However, their main roster run was largely uninspiring and the two ended up requesting their release eventually. FTR was granted their release on April 10, 2020 and now it seems FTR reflected on the three-year anniversary since their WWE release.

The biggest reason why Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler wanted to leave WWE was simply due to the fact that they were not given proper storylines and feuds on the main roster. As fans know, Vince McMahon was never a fan of tag team wrestling – something that didn’t work in FTR’s favor.

After being underutilized on the WWE main roster, FTR was granted their release in 2020, which led them to sign with AEW. FTR ended up having a phenomenal run, as they went on to win titles in AEW, ROH, AAA, and NJPW.

Dax Harwood took to Twitter and commented on WWE’s official announcement that FTR was released on April 10, 2020. Harwood uploaded a few photos of all that FTR achieved in the three years since their release, leaving an inspirational quote for fans.

Believe in yourself, even if no one else wants to.

FTR also won the AEW Tag Team Championships on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. They also had no intention of ever making a return to Vince McMahon’s company. We’ll have to wait and see how they will be booked as the champions in the coming weeks.

What’s your take on what Dax Harwood said? Are you glad WWE released FTR back in 2020? Sound off in the comments!
