Trish Stratus’ Potential Heel Turn: What Could It Mean for WWE?

Trish Stratus returned to WWE to help out her friends as they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Those titles were not defended at WrestleMania, but Trish did team with Lita and Becky Lynch to beat Damage CTRL. Although Trish stayed true to her friends at the showcase of the immortals, the fact is that might change soon.

The general thought is that Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch have a big feud coming up. It’s not 100% clear where the two will throw down, but SummerSlam is always a possibility, as is Backlash. Of course, that is hard to accomplish when they are on the same side.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE could pull the trigger on Trish Stratus’ heel turn on RAW. Lita and Becky Lynch are set to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, so that might open up a new possibility.

If Stratus is doing a turn on Lynch, one would think babyfaces wouldn’t take over the belts, and it made more sense to do it against heel challengers, so we’ll see how this plays out. All the old rules about making sense don’t mean as much when most of the money is guaranteed, and you can really do whatever you want in booking now.

Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch might have remained allies through WrestleMania, but there is a different story with Damage CTRL. The current fear is that Vince McMahon broke up Bayley, IYO Sky and Dakota Kai’s stable.

Backlash will go down on May 6th in Puerto Rico. So far, we do not have any confirmed matches for the show, but Roman Reigns won’t be on the card. Only time will tell if Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch fills one of those match slots.
