Chad Gable truly improved his position on WWE television once he got rid of his Shorty-G gimmick. Since then, he has competed at a level of technical excellence only a few are able to achieve. Even WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle is a massive fan of Chad Gable. Gable is currently quite content with his current role in WWE, but it seems he is also considering a singles run by the looks of it.
The former Shorty G was doing a solid job as leader of Alpha Academy, as he competed in several solid matches over the past year. His pairing with Otis saw him win tag team gold and numerous accolades over the years.
A couple of months ago, WWE decided to change up plans for Chad Gable, as they started to distance Otis from him. Otis is now engaged in a storyline with the Maximum Male Models, while Gable is now doing his own thing while still being affiliated with Otis.
According to a report by Twitter account @WKRDWrestling, it was noted that “there have been discussions of pushing Chad Gable as more of a serious singles star while moving Otis to Maximum Male Models in a comedy role.” It was further added that “Gable and Otis are on the fence about splitting up due to their long time, close friendship.”
While speaking to GiveMeSport.com during Wrestlemania 39 weekend, Chad Gable opened up about his current position in WWE. Gable stated that while he is content with his current position in WWE, Gable would definitely be interested in pursuing a singles career.
“We’re in a very cool spot. We’re still a team, but they’re also using me in these singles matches, giving me some of the top guys in the company. I’m perfectly happy continuing as it is. Long-term, I’ve explored everything there is to do in tag wrestling, so I do want to see what I can do as a singles wrestler.”
Chad Gable also previously got huge props for being a money maker in WWE. Only time will tell whether Chad Gable will finally be able to realize his own potential in WWE as a singles star. After all, fans have been clamouring to see him succeed on his own merits.
