WWE’s RAW after WrestleMania was a clusterscrew by many fans’ accounts of the event. For those backstage in WWE, the entire show was chaotic as well, thanks to Vince McMahon’s return to power. We also didn’t see any call-ups from NXT, which fans blamed on Vince McMahon as well, but they shouldn’t be so quick to throw Mr. McMahon under the bus for that one.
There are plenty of NXT Superstars that fans could picture on the WWE main roster. Names like Bron Breakker and Cora Jade were on that list, but they both reappeared on NXT this week. Bron Breakker even turned heel in the process, indicating that he has another run left in the developmental brand.
It was previously reported that Cameron Grimes is done with NXT, and he’s just waiting on the right creative before his main roster call-up. A popular fan theory out there is saying that Vince McMahon put the kibosh on any call-ups from NXT during the RAW after WrestleMania.
A tenured source in the WWE creative team spoke to us about this subject. We asked about a lack of NXT call-ups after WrestleMania, and we were told that no call-ups were even planned to begin with.
We were outright told that, “There were no callups planned for this RAW.” Only time will tell if fans see any NXT names appear on SmackDown this week.
Vince McMahon’s return to WWE is certainly shaking things up. Morale is also down backstage, and a couple top Superstars have privately said that they plan on asking for their releases from the company. Thankfully, the company has a roster full of NXT talent who are champing at the bit for a chance to perform under the bright lights on RAW and SmackDown.
What’s your take on this situation with NXT? Who should get called up to the main roster next? Sound off in the comments!
