Former WWE Superstar CM Punk has been spotted ahead of WWE WrestleMania Sunday in Philadelphia by legendary scrap wrestling commentator, ScrapDog. According to reports, Punk is set to do commentary for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships MMA promotion at the 2300 Arena.
There has been online speculation circulating that Punk could make a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, but it seems those rumors are now put to rest. Punk’s appearance in Philadelphia confirms that he won’t be appearing at the WWE event.
For those living under a rock, Punk has been involved in MMA since leaving WWE back in 2014. He signed with the UFC back in 2014 and fought two bouts before being released in 2018. He has since worked as a commentator for MMA promotions. Punk also signed with AEW wrestling shortly after, where he would take a hiatus from the company after a backstage brawl with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event.
While Punk’s appearance at CFFC MMA in Philadelphia won’t satisfy WWE fans who were hoping to see him at WrestleMania 39, it’s still exciting news for those who follow his career in the MMA world.
As for the WWE, WrestleMania 39 is set to continue without Punk’s involvement. The event has already had many exciting moments and fans are eagerly anticipating the second night of action. While Punk won’t be there, there are still plenty of reasons to tune in and see what happens next.
