During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about Drew McIntyre’s current situation. He was able to confirm the story about McIntyre’s contract status, but he also added that fans have a long time before they need to worry about McIntyre’s contract actually running up.
I checked on it, it’s correct. You know, it’s a long way away. We’re in April, and tons of stuff could happen between April and the end of the year, but what he wrote, that’s completely accurate.
Drew McIntyre is a former WWE Champion, but his spot on the card was lost to Roman Reigns when he started his Tribal Chief saga. We’ll have to see if WWE can secure McIntyre into a bigger deal, but he’s departed from the company before to make an even bigger name for himself.
A lot of things could happen in WWE by the time that Drew McIntyre’s contract expires. The company could even be in the hands of a new owner.
