AEW President Tony Khan has once again been asked about the future of CM Punk in AEW, but once again, he gave the same answer: “I cannot comment on that.” In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Khan was asked about Punk’s status with the company, but he remained tight-lipped on the matter.
Punk’s future with AEW has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with a deleted Instagram story and a leaked talent handbook adding fuel to the fire. However, with Punk currently recovering from injury, there is still time before Khan needs to make a decision about his future with the company.
Despite not commenting on Punk’s situation, Khan did make a joke about one of his nemeses, Ariel Helwani, who had repeatedly asked Khan about Punk in a previous interview. “Well better to ask once than seven times in a row after I ‘no comment,'” Khan quipped. “Who would do that?”
The situation with Punk and AEW has been ongoing since the media scrum incident following All Out back in September, where Khan was repeatedly asked about Punk’s status with the company. Khan has consistently refused to comment on the matter, but speculation continues to swirl around the potential return of the former WWE Superstar to the wrestling world.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for Punk in AEW, and whether Khan will eventually break his silence on the matter.
