The Hurt Business was composed of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, and they made a lasting impact during their time in WWE. The group propelled the careers of its members to new heights and left a lasting legacy. However, like many WWE stables, the Hurt Business eventually disbanded in 2021. That said, it seems Ricochet was supposed to be one of the members of the faction.
Even Roman Reigns felt that the dissolution of The Hurt Business was too soon. Although there was a brief attempt at a reunion, it was ultimately short-lived, leaving fans with no expectation of a future return for the popular stable.
Bobby Lashley previously said the breakup ‘hurt his heart.’ That said, the faction has yet to make its return to WWE television. While the four were the original members of the faction, WWE has plans to include even more Superstars.
While speaking to Alex McCarthy, Ricochet revealed that both he and Apollo Crews were originally meant to be part of The Hurt Business. Of course, they never ended up becoming part of the faction.
“It was supposed to be like all the original Hurt Business guys, plus me, plus Apollo [Crews]. It would have been something. But then, who beats that? I honestly think they were like ‘let’s take a couple of people out.”
The Hurt Business’ return is not confirmed yet either. Regardless, Ricochet is happy with how things turned out as he is set to compete at WrestleMania 39. As for Bobby Lashley, his status for WrestleMania remains unclear, because Bray Wyatt’s illness nixed his match at the showcase of the immortals. We’ll have to see what the future holds for The Almighty and a possible Hurt Business reunion.
