MJF rose through the ranks to become one of the hottest stars in professional wrestling. His promo work and dirty in-ring tactics have also made him one of the most despised wrestlers in the industry. That being said, the AEW World Champion is set to receive a great honor ahead of Dynamite this week.
MJF won the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley at Full Gear in November 2022. He retained the title as well as his Dynamite Diamond Ring against Ricky Starks at Winter is Coming. Moreover, the Devil bested Bryan Danielson in a grueling 60-minute-plus Iron Man match at the Revolution pay-per-view event.
MJF took to Twitter on Friday to reveal that he is set to receive the key to the city of Oyster Bay for his charitable endeavors. The AEW World Champion shared the official statement from Oyster Bay’s Public Information Office. It was also noted that the town will proclaim April 3rd as “Maxwell Jacob Friedman Day.”
It was all a dream… SIKE ITS A REALITY!!!!!!!
MJF DAY BABY!!!!!
MJF isn’t the first AEW star to get a day named after him as The City of East Palo Alto had officially proclaimed March 24th as “Powerhouse Hobbs Day.” Both MJF and Powerhouse Hobbs are in their first reign as AEW World Champion and AEW TNT Champion, respectively.
MJF is advertised to appear on the April 5th episode of Dynamite. The show will emanate from the UBS Arena in the champ’s home town of Long Island, New York. You can check out the line-up for the show by clicking here.
Are you happy for MJF now that he’s getting keys to the city and a day named after him? How would you rate MJF’s current reign as AEW World Champion? Sound off in the comments!
