Cody Rhodes is currently one of the most established stars in the world of WWE right now. His stock continues to increase with every passing week, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. That said, it seems Cody Rhodes made an admission about his time in AEW.

Cody Rhodes suddenly left AEW in February last year, leaving fans in shock. Before his exit, Rhodes was a standout performer in AEW, helping put over numerous talent with his solid performances inside the squared circle.

Cody Rhodes was frequently booed in AEW toward the very end of his run with the company. Fans simply wanted him to turn heel no matter what, but that never happened. Rhodes also would not want to change a thing about how fans perceived him in the company.

While speaking with Bleacher Report, Cody Rhodes talked about his time in AEW. The American Nightmare stated that he thinks he shouldn’t have let some AEW wrestlers beat him.

“I was letting some of them beat me long before they should ever beat me. I wanted them to succeed, and I still do, but it wasn’t time for me to be a coach. It was time for me to be a player.”

Cody Rhodes is also the favorite to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. We will have to wait and see whether The American Nightmare will be able to defeat Roman Reigns and make history.
