WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 39, is coming up soon. This could be a history-making event, that will showcase the company’s top performers. They will also highlight a few special appearances from celebrities who are under contract on much different deals. This is nothing new for WWE, and it only carries on one of Vince McMahon’s traditions.

During an appearance on First Take, WWE CEO Nick Khan was asked about WWE bringing in big names from outside the company. He explained that it all really started with Mr. T at the first WrestleMania event, as Vince McMahon’s vision was to create a pop culture extravaganza.
“I think really, it started with Mr. T as Vince McMahon’s vision of WrestleMania 1 […] to get eyeballs on the product that way. If you think about it, it then continued with Floyd Mayweather […] he came into it on the upswing, Tyson Fury did the same thing. I think Bad Bunny came into Tampa for WrestleMania, I think Bad Bunny set the stage that ‘hey this is where you go if you’re building your brand, not once you’re on the downside.'”
“I think that applies to Logan [Paul], I think it applies to Ronda Rousey, Pat McAfee, and other folks.”
Nick Khan went on to speak on Bad Bunny, who he credited for having a massive impact on their viewership. He also said that the Bad Bunny Effect saw an impact that wasn’t limited to the Latino fan base, either.
“The Bad Bunny Effect from the Latin American community has been off the charts, because as you know he’s the number one artist globally, not just the Latino community, the American community loves him. Huge, huge impact, by the way, never underestimate Logan Paul or Pat McAfee in that regard.”
Bad Bunny will be at WrestleMania, where he could get physical. If anything, we know that he will host WrestleMania Backlash on May 6th when the company brings the big pay-per-view to Puerto Rico.
