WWE’s WrestleMania event is sure to bring in a lot of attention. That being said, there was some confusion about John Cena’s WrestleMania match placement, because the latest update went against WWE’s official announcement.
Nick Khan was on ESPN’s First Take today, and before his appearance, they dropped the lineup for both nights of WrestleMania 39. It seems that although it appeared that Cena vs Theory was on the top of the card for night 1, their opening match status hasn’t changed.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE has not changed John Cena and Austin Theory’s match. They are still planned to open up night 1 on April 1st.
Fightful Select confirmed with WWE that John Cena and Austin Theory are opening night 1. Many people were confused by a graphic that had them prominently featured.
WWE certainly has a huge show in store for fans at WrestleMania. It seems that fans will still need to tune in from the start of the show on Night 1 if they want to see John Cena take on Austin Theory for the WWE United States Title. On that note, you can check out an updated lineup, with the above alteration, below as according to First Take.
