Tony Khan Doesn’t Write ‘Word For Word Scripts’ For AEW Talents

AEW continues to deliver quality wrestling and promos on a weekly basis thanks to their incredibly-talented roster that work day and night to entertain the fans. Moreover, the promotion has some of the best talkers in the world; something AEW President Tony Khan has been utilizing since day one.

AEW stars such as MJF, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, and Adam Page all have this great ability to sell storylines and feuds and create the ultimate hype for the product. According to Tony Khan, the promos his wrestlers cut on the mic are genuine because he doesn’t feed words into their mouth.

Speaking to LA Times for a new interview, Khan reiterated the importance of keeping scripted promos to a minimal and noted that the promos his talents cut are in fact them speaking their own minds.

“What’s great about AEW is you hear the wrestlers speaking in their own words and I’m not trying to force the words into their mouths. I don’t write word for word scripts for anybody and we have the best talkers in pro wrestling.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Khan said he thought about turning MJF babyface when the current AEW World Champion was getting overwhelmingly loud reactions from the crowd but ultimately decided against it.
