As previously reported, the fate of the ROH World Tag Team Championship will be decided in a “Reach for the Sky” ladder match between The Lucha Brothers, Top Flight, RUSH & Dralistico, Aussie Open, and The Kingdom.
Speaking to Battleground Podcast, Tony Khan revealed the winners of the tag team title bout will receive new belts. Khan said he moved forward with the decision after consulting former ROH World Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe.
“It’ll be new belts, we retired the old design. We wanted to pay tribute to Jay with something special & of all the ideas I heard, this was by far the best idea. Mark Briscoe thought it was a great idea, and that was important to me too. Having his opinion and having his buy in to this made all the difference in the world.”
Mark Briscoe will have his hands full at the Supercard of Honor PPV show as well. The tag team specialist will take on Samoa Joe for the ROH World Television Championship this Friday. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we will have full coverage of the show.
