WrestleMania is coming up this weekend, but there are a few things that are left to do. It seems that one highly-anticipated match is off the card for the show of shows, and that might disappoint some fans.
Ringside News exclusively reported that Bray Wyatt’s current WrestleMania status isn’t being talked about backstage. That might have changed since our report on the 26th, because it certainly seems that the company has quietly nixed that WrestleMania collision.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal angle during RAW. He mentioned that one of the stand-out portions of that segment was the fact that Bobby Lashley was in it.
To me, the key is that Bobby Lashley is in it, which tells me that, obviously, Bobby Lashley vs Bray Wyatt seems to be out, but him being in the battle royal indicates that they have not replaced that match.
We will have to see what happens with Bobby Lashley on SmackDown. He was certainly positioned during a backstage angle on RAW to look like the favorite to win the over-the-top-rope match.
Bray Wyatt’s situation is a curious one. Right now, we haven’t heard anything official about his WrestleMania match, but WWE has certainly ignored and avoided talking about it at this point. Hopefully, he will be able to make it back to the squared circle soon.
What’s your take on Bray Wyatt and Bobby Lashley’s WrestleMania match getting nixed? Sound off in the comments!
