Adam Page has established himself as a cornerstone of AEW’s television programming since he was one of the first talents to sign with the company in 2019. He has earned a loyal fan base due to his relatable and compelling character work, which sets him apart as a fan-favorite. That said, Jim Cornette blasted Tony Khan for booking Adam Page Like Steve Austin.
For the past few months, Adam Page has been feuding with Jon Moxley on AEW television. They last faced each other at AEW Revolution, where Adam Page came out as the victor.
Last week’s Dynamite saw The Young Bucks being attacked by masked men and then taken to the hospital. Page went with them in the ambulance. The show ended with The Blackpool Combat Club attacking Kenny Omega after his match.
Adam Page then returned and made the save for Omega. Despite that, tensions arose between Page and Omega due to Don Callis. While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette blasted Tony Khan for booking Adam Page Like Steve Austin in the segment.
“I swear to God, now they think he’s Stone Cold Steve Austin. You can tell Tony loved RAW on Monday nights in 1998. Because, here comes this f*****g, empty-headed dip-s**t, that’s never done a thing in a wrestling business and now he thinks he’s Stone Cold Steve Austin. And not only does he walk in the arena carrying a board but they still have to play his music, he’s on camera coming into the back of the arena, and then they still have to play his music for him to come out.
Hangnail j**ks away from Don and Don takes a purposeful fake bump, a phantom bump next to Kenny on the mat and then Kenny gets up, mad at Page and yell at him like, ‘Why’d you hit my manager?’ Oh for f***s sake, we know he’s an idiot, but all he has to do is watch television. So now it’s going to be Kenny wants to do what’s right, but Don’s in his ear. And Hangnail will probably be instrumental in getting his head right or whatever.*
We will have to wait and see how AEW will book Adam Page and Kenny Omega’s storyline in the coming weeks. For the time being, fans are certainly invested in what they will do next.
