AEW offers their performers a chance to perform on a big stage, and performers like Jon Moxley have a much larger say about what they do in their storylines. Tony Khan’s company has a couple of signature matches, but Mox decided against participating in one of them.

Jon Moxley has no issue letting people know what is on his mind. He recently unloaded a bit on the drama in AEW, and he also revealed what really happened with CM Punk and his rehab situation. The candidly spoken Moxley also opened up about one AEW match he rejected.

While speaking with his wife, Renee Paquette, on her The Sessions podcast, Jon Moxley opened up a bit about one time that he said he wouldn’t do something in AEW. It turns out that Moxley wasn’t down for a Stadium Stampede.

“That was the whole idea behind Anarchy in the Arena (at Double or Nothing). They wanted do a Stadium Stampede again and I was like, ‘I ain’t doing that.’

“That’s how the conversation started anyway. It was like, ‘I ain’t doing that’ or whatever. ‘Okay, if I was gonna do it, I would do it once in one take, live in front of the whole crowd’ and that was Anarchy in the Arena.”

The Anarchy in the Arena match was still a memorable moment, even though it wasn’t a Stadium Stampede. It’s interesting that Jon Moxley didn’t want to do a Stadium Stampede match, especially considering all the insane, dangerous weapons and gimmicks he’s agreed to in the past.
