A few weeks ago on Monday Night RAW, John Cena made a highly-anticipated comeback and was visibly emotional upon hearing the cheers from the live crowd. He got into a heated promo with Austin Theory and eventually agreed to face him in a blockbuster match at WrestleMania 39. It seems MVP was disappointed with this promo for some reason.

It was largely a one-sided beatdown on the mic, as John Cena verbally decimated Austin Theory in the promo and ended up setting up their match at the Show of Shows. Needless to say, fans loved every bit of it.

That being said, there were also quite a few people who believed that John Cena essentially buried Theory with that promo. In fact, even MVP was disappointed with the promo.

While speaking on a recent edition of WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves, MVP stated that he was disappointed with the promo because Austin Theory did not reply the way MVP felt he should have.

That confrontation that he had with John Cena, I was mildly disappointed in Theory for just a moment because he didn’t respond to Cena the way I thought he should have.

I thought he should have punched Cena right in his mouth and shown Cena, believe that. But what Cena obviously doesn’t know is that Theory is that kid who walked up to me in McDonough, Georgia and said, ‘I’m going to be in the WWE.’

So obviously Cena doesn’t know that kid. He believed in himself enough to go from a gym to the grandest stage of them all to face one of the greatest stars, if not, some would say, the greatest star that WWE has ever produced.

After talking to that kid, that 16 or 17 year old kid in McDonough, and seeing what that kid has accomplished, John Cena is going to lose to that kid at WrestleMania.”

It remains to be seen how WWE will continue to build the feud between Cena and Theory leading up to WrestleMania 39. However, fans are eagerly anticipating Cena’s return to the Grandest Stage Of Them All and are excited to see what’s in store for him.

Do you think John Cena will win? Is Austin Theory the favorite to win? Sound off in the comments!
