AEW has signed a lot of former WWE Superstars to contracts over the years, and that might not change any time soon. The fact is that Tony Khan’s company only has so many hours of television time to fill, and Miro hasn’t worked into any plans for a long time.
We previously reported that Miro is back in Bulgaria. He’s actually been in Bulgaria for over a month at this point, and we’re not sure when his plan is to return to the United States.
Dave Meltzer mentioned the report that Miro is in Bulgaria within the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It was also noted that Tony Khan had an idea for Miro’s return, as he would lose in a battle royal match, but that didn’t come to pass.
Miro and wife C.J. Perry (Lana) have been in Bulgaria for a month. Tony Khan had pitched an idea for him in September for Full Gear. One thing he turned down was losing a Battle Royal where he and Adam Page would have been the last two. Khan had said that after the PPV they’d try and get back and obviously his name hasn’t been mentioned since. He has about three years left on his contract.
Miro has been in Bulgaria, and we don’t know when he will return. That being said, AEW fans probably shouldn’t expect to see him for a bit. After all, Tony Khan needs to figure out something for Miro to do first.
Losing to Hangman Page in a battle royal was not Miro’s idea for his return, so it didn’t happen. Only time will tell how long it will be until Tony Khan calls Miro up with another idea.
