CM Punk is a controversial figure in the professional wrestling world, and his return to the industry in 2021 after a seven-year hiatus changed the game for many. While his initial year in AEW was amazing, 2022 was simply disastrous for him as well as AEW in general. Now it seems Moxley and Punk have legitimate heat in AEW.

Following the AEW All Out event, CM Punk made controversial comments during a media scrum where he criticized fellow wrestlers Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. The ramifications of the brawl that ensued afterwards is still being felt in AEW.

CM Punk caused another storm after he went on a scathing rant in his now-deleted Instagram story. In his story, the Second City Saint targeted Jon Moxley, Dave Meltzer and Chris Jericho.

Punk claimed that Jon Moxley did not want to put over Punk during their feud. Punk also called Chris Jericho a liar and a stooge. According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, there is some heat between Jon Moxley and CM Punk, based on reports from those who spoke to Moxley after Brawl Out. In the days following the event, Moxley helped lead a locker room meeting along with Chris Jericho.

Interestingly enough, Bryan Danielson also led the meeting, but there have been no reports of any issues between him and Punk. It’s possible that the meeting was simply a chance for wrestlers to air their grievances and discuss any concerns they had about Punk’s behavior.

However, it seems that things got heated between Punk and Jericho after the Brawl Out fight. Jericho reportedly called Punk a “cancer,” and Punk responded by shouting back at him.

We’ve heard subsequently, Jon Moxley and Punk have appeared to have heat, based on those that Moxley has spoken to after Brawl Out. Moxley helped lead a locker room meeting in the days after with Chris Jericho, who was also called “a liar and a stooge” in the Punk IG post. Bryan Danielson also led the meeting, but wasn’t mentioned, and we haven’t heard of any heat between Danielson and Punk. Jericho and Punk shouted at each other after the Brawl Out fight took place, with Jericho calling Punk “a cancer,” and Punk shouting back at Jericho.

Chris Jericho also hit back at CM Punk for calling him a liar and a stooge. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether The Second City Saint will ever make his comeback to AEW.
