CM Punk’s Friend Claims He’s Willing To Apologize For Brawl Out Incident

One of the biggest talking points of last year was the famous All Out brawl that took place backstage after the post-media scrum. Those involved in the incident were suspended and stripped of their respective titles. While The Elite returned to active competition last year, Punk hasn’t been seen since the incident.

At that time, it was believed that AEW was looking to buy CM Punk out of his contract, but there was no official confirmation on the same. AEW President Tony Khan has also kept quiet when questioned about CM Punk’s status. Now, it seems there may be new information that is coming to light regarding Punk.

According to Fightful Select, those close to CM Punk believed that he wanted out of his contract without a non-compete attached. However, they now believe that he is open to returning to AEW and even wanted to.

At least one friend claimed that Punk was willing to apologize for the brawl that took place but failed to provide context about the apology. Punk has also reportedly expressed some form of regret for the incident that took place that night.

“At one point those close to Punk believed that he wanted out of his contract without a non-compete attached, however in recent weeks they believed that Punk was open to returning to AEW, and even wanted to. In an important note, at least one person claimed that Punk was willing to apologize for the scrum portion of the All Out evening. There was a lot of context absent from that claim — specifically to whom, or whether it’d be publicly or privately. Several people said that Punk has expressed some form of regret for aspect of that night in general.”

Even if CM Punk is ready to apologize for his action on that night, it remains to be seen if Tony Khan will continue to keep him in the company. We will have to wait and see what transpires next. Until then, stay tuned to Ringside News for similar stories.
