CM Punk caused a huge stir after AEW All Out after his comments during the media scrum caused absolute chaos backstage. To top it all off, CM Punk was injured anyway, so his absence was needed either way. It seems that he could come back any time now.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, CM Punk was supposed to be cleared for a return months ago. It is also said that the belief is that CM Punk could be cleared, if he isn’t already, for a return right now.
As far as CM Punk’s injury status, he tore his triceps at AEW All Out before the scrum. Those with knowledge of the situation said that he was hopeful he could be fully healthy by late January, but believe that now he’d be able to be cleared, and if not now, very soon.
CM Punk recently posted a photo of himself on the set of Heels. That led some fans to believe that he was filming another season. It was also noted in the report that, “There were some asking about him filming for Heels season 2 since he posted a picture from the set recently, but that season reportedly wrapped last July.”
CM Punk posted a very interesting Instagram story and then quickly deleted it. The belief is that CM Punk might have been ordered to nix that story, because of their handbook that dictates social media usage. You can click here to read those leaked pages.
We’ll have to see when CM Punk comes back. Obviously, his return to AEW could bring a lot of attention. He hasn’t spoken about that openly, but there is a general feeling that it’s not impossible.
CM Punk was suspended from AEW after the Brawl Out incident. Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were also suspended, but they have since made a return to television. Only time will tell if CM Punk comes back as well.
Would it surprise you to see CM Punk return to AEW? How should Tony Khan book him? Sounds off in the comments!
