Naomi has officially confirmed that she is no longer with WWE for the first time after not appearing on WWE television since May 16, 2022, when she and Sasha Banks walked out on the company and were subsequently suspended.
While Banks has since left WWE and is currently the IWGP Women’s World Champion, Naomi is still listed on the WWE roster despite not appearing on programming for nearly a year.
Fans had been speculating on Naomi’s status with the company, and she finally confirmed the news on her Instagram account when she posted about an upcoming appearance at Wrestlecon during WrestleMania weekend. In response to fans’ questions about her status with WWE, Naomi confirmed that she was no longer with the sports entertainment juggernaut.
The news is not entirely surprising, as Fightful Select reported back in January that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion’s contract was close to expiring at the time of her walkout in May 2022. It remains unclear whether Naomi’s departure was a result of the contract expiring or if there were other factors at play.
Naomi’s departure from WWE is a significant loss for the company, as she was a popular and talented performer who had been with the organization since 2010. Throughout her tenure, she won the SmackDown Women’s Championship twice and was a key member of the Total Divas cast.
It is unclear what Naomi’s future plans are, but her departure from WWE opens up a world of possibilities for the talented wrestler. Fans will undoubtedly be eager to see where she lands next and what new opportunities she will have to showcase her skills and personality.
WWE has not yet commented on Naomi’s departure from the company but we will continue to provide updates on her status in the wrestling world as they become available.
