Rey Mysterio has been credited as one of the greatest luchadors to step inside the squared circle. Moreover, the Master of the 619 has been diving between the ropes and laying hurricaranas on opponents for over two decades. With Mysterio set to take his place in the Hall of Fame, his announced inductor Konnan recently revealed an interesting fact regarding the same.

Rey Mysterio was revealed as the first member of the class of 2023 to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The announcement came on the March 10th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

The Los Angeles Times further revealed another fact related to Rey’s induction. They stated that Konnan from AAA Lucha Libre would induct his longtime friend, Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame shortly after the announcement.

However, Konnan asserted that talks are still in progress and won’t be finalized until WWE makes an announcement. He spoke about this in a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm. This probably comes from the belief of Konnan still being signed with MLW, who is pursuing a lawsuit against WWE.

“Well, I would be very disappointed if it wasn’t me, but Rey has asked me, so we’re still negotiating. Until they put it out there, Until they officially announce it, I really can’t say anything on it, but I have been contacted.”

The Mysterio family will undoubtedly have a thrilling WrestleMania weekend, but we will have to wait and see how the Konnan situation plays out. For more on this story, and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world, keep tuned to Ringside News.
