Cody Rhodes made his iconic return at WrestleMania 38 last year. The American Nightmare was revealed as the mystery opponent of Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Cody Rhodes’ return sent shockwaves across the wrestling industry and changed the entire scenario of the WWE main-event picture. Recently a popular seamstress revealed that Cody’s departure from AEW made her cry.
The 2023 Royal Rumble Winner played a major role in hiring Sandra Gray to AEW in 2019. She initially served as a seamstress at WWE until 2015 and was known for designing costumes for prominent superstars including Nikki Bella, Dustin Rhodes, and Dolph Ziggler.
Recently on “The A2theK Wrestling Show,” Sandra Gray discussed her closeness with Cody and the influence he has had. Furthermore, she also revealed that Rhodes gave her the entire department to handle.
“I’m super proud of him for headlining WrestleMania. When he brought me to AEW, that was a really big deal because he didn’t hesitate. It was like ‘This is gonna be your department.”
Since then, Sandra Gray has consistently given her full attention to whatever ideas wrestlers present to her, hoping to earn back the confidence and trust Rhodes shows in her while strongly stating that she never wants to let him down. To her credit, she has a strong conviction that “I don’t think I ever have.”
She currently enjoys working with superstars like MJF, Jade Cargill, and Sammy Guevara, but her relationship with Cody Rhodes is still different. Hence, it is not surprising that his departure from Tony Khan’s advancement affected her really severely.
“So the day that he left, I was on my way somewhere in the airport,” she continued, “and it literally made me cry. I was so upset and just heartbroken, the fact that he wouldn’t be there anymore.”
“The Son of a Plumber” has indeed made a significant impact on the wrestling business evident from the stories like that of Sandra Gray. Nevertheless, The American Nightmare is all set for the biggest match of his career against the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. He has significant momentum going in the fight and fans eagerly await the outcome of his “story”.
