Sting last competed in an AEW ring at the Full Gear pay-per-view event, when he teamed up with Darby Allin against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in a No Disqualification match. The icon will make his in-ring return to the promotion this Wednesday on Dynamite.

AEW announced that Sting will make his in-ring return after months to team up with his protégé Darby Allin and current AEW International Championship Orange Cassidy against The Butcher, The Blade and Kip Sabin in a six-man tag team match on the upcoming episode of Wednesday Night.

Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin defeated The Butcher and The Blade at AEW’s first-ever house show this past Saturday in Troy, Ohio. Butcher, Blade and Kip Sabian issued a challenge to Allin and Cassidy after the match. Tony Khan announced on Monday that the babyfaces had chosen Sting as their tag team partner for the match-up.
